Associate Professor David Graham is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in adult and paediatric hand, wrist and microsurgery.
Dr Graham consults privately on the Gold Coast at Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic and operates privately at John Flynn Private Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital. He is also a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon at Gold Coast University Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Associate Professor Graham graduated from The University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), before completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at UQ. After working as a junior doctor in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, he undertook advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery in New South Wales.
Following completion of his orthopaedic training, Dr Graham completed a Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery Fellowshipat Royal North Shore Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney. He then undertook further international hand surgery fellowships at Ganga Hospital (Coimbatore, India) and with the University of California, Irvine / Shriners Hospital Los Angeles / Children’s Hospital of Orange County (USA). He has also travelled to Japan and Spain to work with and observe leading international hand surgery professors.
Prior to returning to Queensland, Dr Graham worked as a consultant hand, wrist and microsurgeon at the Sydney Hospital Hand Unit and the South Western Sydney Hand Unit (Fairfield Hospital).
Dr Graham has a strong commitment to teaching and research and has been awarded the title of Associate Professor at both Griffith University and The University of Queensland. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in orthopaedic and hand surgery and regularly presents at local, national and international hand surgery conferences. He is also a co-founder of the not-for-profit research group Australian Research Collaboration on Hands (ARCH), established in collaboration with A/Prof Brahman Sivakumar, which supports high-quality collaborative research in hand and wrist surgery across Australia.
In 2018, Dr Graham was selected for the prestigious Australian Hand Surgery Society (AHSS) / American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) Travelling Fellowship, visiting the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), Hospital for Special Surgery (New York, NY), Curtis National Hand Center (Baltimore, MD) and the Rothman Institute (Philadelphia, PA). In 2023, he was again chosen for the combined AHSS / British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) Travelling Fellowship, visiting Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, University College London, Morriston Hospital (Swansea), Royal Glasgow Infirmary, St John’s Hospital (Livingston) and the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.
Dr Graham is actively involved in international orthopaedic outreach, with a focus on delivering high-quality care while supporting sustainable education and training for local surgeons and trainees. These trips are undertaken in collaboration with the Australian Hand Surgery Society, American Society for Surgery of the Hand – Touching Hands Project, Orthopaedic Outreach, and AUSNEP, and have included missions to Nepal, Cambodia, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and Kiribati.
In recognition of his ongoing commitment to outreach and humanitarian work, Dr Graham was awarded the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Humanitarian Award in 2025.

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Subspecialising in Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery
Dr Daniel Williams is a locally trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, who completed high school and medicine locally on the Gold Coast.
Dr Williams undertook a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at the University of Queensland (Brisbane), where he attended St. Leo’s College. He went on to complete a post-graduate Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Griffith University (Gold Coast).
Dr Williams worked as a junior surgical doctor for 5 years on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Cairns. He subsequently completed 5 years of advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Victoria and Queensland.
Dr Williams was then awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FRACS(Plast)). Dr Williams has also had the privilege of working with world surgical leaders, completing 2 years of fellowships in Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery. Locally at the Gold Coast University Hospital and internationally at Clinica Cavadas (Valencia, Spain) and Piñal y Associados (Madrid, Spain).
His areas of interest are peripheral nerve surgery, wrist arthroscopy and reconstructive hand surgery.
Dr Williams offers a full spectrum of elective and trauma Hand Surgery , and he consults at the Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic and operates privately at John Flynn Private Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital, Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pacific Private Hospital. Dr Williams also performs general Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, including head and neck, breast and lower limb reconstruction privately through his Southport rooms (phone (07) 5683 0820). Dr Williams works publicly through his appointment at the Gold Coast University Hospital, as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, where he is involved in training future Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr Williams has a lifelong commitment to education as a lecturer at Griffith University School of Medicine and Dentistry, teaching medical students. He also has an active role in research, with national and international presentations and publications.
Dr Williams is a provisional member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society (AHSS), through which he was awarded the del Piñal International Scholarship in 2022. He also holds membership with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
When Dr Williams is not working, he loves spending time with his young family and surfing.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Stephen Kent is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty expertise in hand, wrist and microsurgical reconstruction, including nerve and tendon repair, trauma surgery, and complex upper limb conditions. He is passionate about delivering precise, evidence-based care tailored to each individual — helping patients regain movement, comfort, and the ability to return to the activities that matter most.
Originally from Brisbane, Dr Kent completed high school achieving an OP1, securing guaranteed provisional entry into medicine at the University of Queensland. He first completed a Bachelor of Science, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery, both at UQ.
He completed orthopaedic surgical training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) across hospitals throughout Queensland and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He subsequently undertook two post-training fellowships: Hand & Wrist Surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital, and Upper Limb Surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He also holds a Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgical Anatomy from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is a proud member of both AOA and RACS.
Dr Kent has performed hundreds of hand, wrist, and microsurgical procedures, ranging from carpal tunnel releases and tendon repairs to complex nerve reconstructions and trauma care. He is committed to modern, minimally invasive and evidence-based techniques, always seeking the best outcomes with the least disruption. He works closely with hand therapists, radiologists, and general practitioners to ensure a comprehensive, collaborative approach to care — from initial assessment to post-operative rehabilitation.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Kent remains active in education and mentoring. He has taught and supported countless junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees, and served as President of the Queensland Orthopaedic Registrar Association (QORA), advocating for high standards in surgical training and trainee wellbeing. He regularly contributes to registrar teaching sessions, engages in upper limb case discussions, and remains passionate about shaping the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr Kent consults privately at the Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic, providing care to patients from across the Gold Coast, Northern New South Wales and surrounding regions. He is proud to offer high-quality, subspecialised care in an approachable and collaborative environment.



Dr Phillips is an accomplished Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with extensive international training, academic distinction, and a strong commitment to patient care and education.
She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and completed her medical degree at the prestigious University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. During her studies, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement.
Dr Phillips undertook her specialist training through the renowned Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Program, gaining comprehensive experience across leading institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Her training encompassed complex reconstructive, microsurgical, paediatric, and hand surgery.
Following her residency, Dr Phillips practiced as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Corewell Health South in Michigan, USA, where she served as Section Leader of Plastic Surgery. Her clinical work spans a broad range of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, including breast reconstruction, skin cancer surgery, trauma, and general reconstructive surgery. She has also played an active role in leadership, teaching, and clinical governance.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Phillips holds an academic appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Medicine, reflecting her ongoing dedication to education and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
Dr Phillips has contributed extensively to the academic field, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and prestigious awards, including the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Best Cosmetic Surgery Paper of the Year (2022).
With strong ties to Australia, including fellowship training on the Gold Coast, Dr Phillips is delighted to return and continue her professional journey, bringing her expertise and patient-centred approach to the local community.

Dr Luke McCarron is an Occupational Therapist and Research Coordinator with the Australian Research Collaboration for Hands (ARCH). He is an Assistant Professor at Bond University and completed his PhD at Griffith University, with a research focus on TFCC injuries.
Dr McCarron holds a Master of Science in Hand Therapy from the University of Derby (UK). He is an Accredited Hand Therapist through the Australian Hand Therapy Association and a Certified Hand Therapist awarded by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (USA).
